N-of-1 Hub Declared a Finalist of the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards

Australian Women's SMall Business Champio

N-of-1 Hub based in Queensland has been declared a Finalist of the 2024 Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards – the nation’s biggest celebration of women in small business. Shortlisted in the Professional Medical Services category of the Awards, N-of-1 Hub is now in contention to take a top gong at the third annual Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards National Presentation Evening Gala, to be held at Sydney’s The Star on Saturday 24 August 2024.

The only national awards programme of its kind created specifically to shine a spotlight on the rising economic and social contributions of female-led small businesses – spanning all capital cities as well as rural, regional and suburban towns – the Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards is comprehensively judged according to stringent criteria by an independent expert panel.

Free to enter, this year’s Awards attracted thousands of entrants but only hundreds made the 2024 list of Finalists in approximately 65 categories – across retail, services and manufacturing industries.

We’re in the midst of an age of increasing female entrepreneurial empowerment in small business,” said Steve Loe, Awards Founder and Managing Director of Precedent Productions, which coordinates the Australian Women’s Small Business Champion Awards.

“Despite the ongoing cost of living and myriad challenges associated with small business ownership today, Australian women are simply powering through and showing incredible resilience and drive.

About the Awards

When the Champion Judges evaluate entries, they consider all aspects of a business: its strategies, growth, eco-friendliness, innovation, customer service and community support – to name but some of the criteria.

Being selected as a Finalist of this prestigious event – from a national entrant pool of thousands – is no easy feat and speaks volumes of the tenacity and quality of leadership at N-of-1 Hub" added Mr Loe

According to Australian Government data, women account for around one-third of the nation’s small business owners and that number is rising more than three times the growth of their male counterparts. Furthermore, research from the Commonwealth Bank shows that women opened almost half (43.2 per cent) of all new business transaction accounts during the 2023 financial year.

It’s truly a privilege to help recognise our country’s growing cohort of inspiring and successful female small business trailblazers. I wish N-of-1 Hub the best of luck on Awards Night,” said Mr Loe.

About N-of-1 Hub

We are so honoured and excited to have made the shortlist from an entrant pool of thousands,” said Dr Jane Nikles, co-director of N-of-1 hub. “We are a women-led small business that’s potentially changing the lives of people around the world and something both the local and international community can feel proud of.”

N-of-1 Hub designs, conducts and analyses personalised clinical trials, individualised randomised controlled trials, where patients serve as their own control to provide detailed insights into an individual’s treatment responses.

Dr Suzanne McDonald, N-of-1 Hub co-director, said: “Examples of N-of-1 Hub’s important work include studies to see if a special medical food can help people with a rare genetic disease called Phenylketonuria function better, whether a particular type of cognitive behavioral therapy program reduces disability in people with chronic whiplash, and whether stimulant medication improves Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD) symptoms in children diagnosed with Fetal Alcohol Spectrum Disorder.  These studies will help people with these debilitating conditions to live and function better. We also deliver workshops and courses on personalised clinical studies. One recent webinar that I delivered to a group in Canada covered the design and analysis of N of 1 trials for rare diseases, an area that we are experts in”.

N-of-1 Hub is the market leader for consultancy, collaboration and training in personalised clinical studies.  Dr Nikles and Dr McDonald are world leaders in this field and have helped over a thousand people find out whether a particular treatment works for them.
